Kronos Power Units

The Kronos power unit is technology derived from an alien invasion of the Earth in the country of Mexico in 1957. Information regarding the alien power storage mechanism came from old magnetic storage wire discovered on Earth in 2006. The information compiled by a super computer named S.U.S.I.E., was a wonderful example of 1950's technology. S.U.S.I.E. was about the size of the football field, but had no discernible functions or means of output. That would explain why the technology was not exploited. The data remained unmolested in a lead mine and was in prefect condition when discovered. Scanning the information required the 4.7 million miles of magnetic wire to be run through a mechanical reader and took close to 15 years to complete. Ironically the necessary data would hardly fill the storage capacity of today’s plasma projection wrist watch.

The OffWorld Navy built several Kronos units to use as deployable energy sources and some of them serve the Navy as mobile Auxiliary Power Units or APUs. They do have a tendency to wander off and suck power from any available energy source.
